New to coupons!

I am fairly new to using coupons but I am learning a few things as I go along. Here are my tips from my mistakes/experiences. My hope is that these tips will be beneficial to you as a reader.

1. Get organized - Nothing is more frustrating than searching through a pile of coupons searching for a coupon only to find out that it has been expired for two weeks.
2. Know the stores coupon policy - Most of the time the cashier is not the friendliest or accommodating to individuals using coupons. Print out the policies of stores that you frequently shop at. This will save a lot of debates in the checkout lines of your favorite stores.
3. Plan ahead - I can't stress this enough. Pre-planning can save lots of time and energy at the store. Know what you’re going to buy beforehand. (This is especially helpful if you have children in tow. Kids can get impatient in the store. Don't make it worse on yourself by trying to sort through coupons in the aisles.
4. Don't be embarrassed - Shopping with coupons is nothing to be ashamed of. I am trying to save money on the things I need so I can afford all of my wants. My first few shopping trips with coupons I meekly went to the checkout counter with my head hung in shame. Now I am proud of the amount of money I can save using coupons.
